In a first, where the Football Players Association of India is concerned, the FPAI, held a 5 a side Football Tournament for Corporates based in Kolkata, at the Calcutta Rangers Club.

The Tournament featured 12 teams, all leading Corporate teams from Kolkata, and was played from January 22 to 31, 2026 , both days inclusive.

Adding to the glamour of the tournament was the novelty of each team having a Marque Player, an ex-India International, whom they could choose from a pool of Players, which was already fixed. Big names such as Mehtab Hussain, Alvito D'Cunha, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Rahim Nabi, Subhashish Roychoudhary, Deepak Mondal and Dipankar Roy with others, participated.

The matches were played between 7 and 9 pm, under flood lights, with Cognizant Blue, having Subhashish Roychoudhury as their goalkeeper eventually proving winners of the Tournament, beating Genpact, in a closely fought Main Plate final by 2 goals to 1.

The Plate tournament was won by PWC AC who beat CTTA.

THE Fair Play Award was won by Tata Steel.

Peter Adams was the anchor for the full event, announcing the matches, and comparing the Prize Distribution ceremony.

The East Bengal Coach, Oscar Bruzon, Assistant Coach Thangboi Singto and Shabbir Ali, Chief Advisor to the All India Football Federation, were present to witness the Final and give out the Prizes, along with the President of the FPAI, Mehrajuddin Wadoo.
